On the Beach

Experimenting on Polaroid film
These photos are from an experimental period over Polaroid films and cameras. The Polaroid material is very convenient for experiments. Expired films, humid, stored in bad conditions, can lead to exquisite results. The sense of old is easily attained and to this help the cameras as well as the lenses that are deprived of the modern Apo layers and UV filters. The themes of the photographs have been carefully chosen so as to be in harmony with the feeling the Polaroid film creates. Unexploited beaches, with figures that are not easily distinguishable, lead the viewer to another dimension of time. Even the clothes of the people who are in the foreground, have been carefully chosen to add to this result. Contemporary places are magically transformed to old ones, having the innocence and the purity of another era.
